Sunday, my car died.  The engine seized up.  Rest in peace, little Jetta, thank you for safely delivering me to Cambridge and for 9 years of adventures in Texas.

...I still made it to a Slow Food Olive Oil tasting, led by Lina Smith:

I learned to swirl and taste, look for vegetal, nutty and earthy aromas (moldy/chemical not good)

I felt a bit silly and food snobby doing this, but I learned so much and it was really fun to taste the different flavors, which are really distinct!! My favorite was a nutty olive oil made from Arbequina olives with very little polyphenols from California. So interesting, I definitely recommend going to a tasting.

my second internship was for a healthy food show pilot featuring Sara Moulton.  I have been a big fan of since the late 90's; I would watch her live show after school.  Imagine my response when I was asked to drive her to the internship. So cool.

The filming of both shows was so different, I learned so much.

Simply Ming

I have always loved watching cooking shows, they have always been my guilty pleasure; for some, the Jersey Shore.  For me, old school cooking shows like Everyday Italian, Barefoot Contessa...

I had an opportunity this month to intern on two (very different) cooking shows.

First, Simply Ming Season 10:

setting up shop, LOTS of produce

Ming and Duff, so cool

its a wrap!
