Sunday, my car died. The engine seized up. Rest in peace, little Jetta, thank you for safely delivering me to Cambridge and for 9 years of adventures in Texas.
...I still made it to a Slow Food Olive Oil tasting, led by Lina Smith:
I learned to swirl and taste, look for vegetal, nutty and earthy aromas (moldy/chemical not good)
I felt a bit silly and food snobby doing this, but I learned so much and it was really fun to taste the different flavors, which are really distinct!! My favorite was a nutty olive oil made from Arbequina olives with very little polyphenols from California. So interesting, I definitely recommend going to a tasting.
